Broadneck Community Involvement at Spizzico

Over the years Spizzico has found a home in the Broadneck Community. We are grateful for all our loyal customers and how much you have embraced us. Community support, for us, is a two-way street. And, because we are a family-oriented business, it is important for us to give back to the community that shows us so much love. Spizzico wants to continue to give back. Read on to learn how you throw a fundraiser at Spizzico, see some of our thank you notes (which we love!) and the different organizations we have helped so far.

Schools are Important to a Community

Broadneck community 1 When one thinks about a community, one thing that comes to mind is our kids. Broadneck families come here to raise their kids in a safe, fun, and loving community. A lot of this starts with our schools. That is why we love to help support local school fundraisers. Spizzico has been proud to support spirit nights and fundraisers throughout the year. It is a great way to get good food and give back to your kid’s school. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to the schools in which the funds help them to accomplish their goals for classroom and music supplies, materials, and more. here are some schools that we have hosted fundraisers with:

  • Magothy River Middle School
  • St. Margaret’s Day School
  • St. Andrew By the Bay Preschool
  • Broadneck High School
  • Windsor Farm Elementary

In addition, we also love to help out with boosters and school-sponsored events. Specifically, Broadneck Elementary’s Bike to School Day, and Broadneck High School’s Music Boosters. The goal of Bike to School Day is to encourage kids to ride their bike to school and increase the demand for bike trails in the area. Also, we firmly believe in the importance of art and music in schools, and we demonstrated our support for Broadneck High’s Music Program.

People are Important to a Community

Broadneck community 2Schools aren’t the only way we look to give back. What is important to our community is important to us. There are causes that touch some or many families within the BroadneckPeninsulaa. Some causes we have held fundraisers to include the Joey Sudo Memorial Golf Tournament, Annapolis Out of the Darkness Walk, and Broadneck’s Habitat for Humanity.

Annapolis Out of the Darkness Walk (Suicide Prevention)

The Out of the Darkness walk is set for Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 11:30 am at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This fall, thousands will walk together to fight suicide and raise awareness about mental health. The funds from the walk will allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, and support survivors. Their goal is to raise $175,000. So, please donate and join in on the walk if you can.

Broadneck Habitat for Humanity

We also admire Broadneck High School for their gracious involvement in Habitat for Humanity. Recently, we were honored to partner with the young students and teaching staff to help raise money for their build trip in Tuscaloosa, Alabam. The students will be working on building houses for many deserving families later this year.

How You Can Help
